OCT 2025 -  I had a great time jamming with some of the top pedal steel cats in the Valley of The Sun in October. Sadly the yearly convention in Mesa AZ won't happen this year. Expenses are rising along with the price of meat! Pedal steel is hanging on. Some younger players come into the fold every year. But as we can see -many of the players today are nearing that milestone when the axe is too heavy, and the money for a gig ain't enough to get my fat ass off the couch. The good old days likely won't return. We lost and icon in the business this year when Del Mullen passed. His grandson also met an early demise which now puts that company at risk. They make one of the finest pedal steel guitars on the planet. We hope they can continue. - Chris
